This Season's Picks

This Season's Picks

We’re sure many of you have closets full of  ‘must-haves’ and ‘staples’ while simultaneously never knowing, or claiming to have, ‘anything to wear.’

Let us let you in on a little secret, it’s not always just about what you have in your closet, but how you style it.

So what’s this season about, what should I wear?

We’ve been getting this question a lot lately.

What trends we’re loving, what we’re actually wearing day-to-day, what feels worth it right now—so here’s our honest answer.

This season feels fun again. Getting dressed isn’t a chore, it’s something we actually look forward to. We’re leaning into pieces that feel a little playful but still easy- fringe, lace, and layering in ways that don’t feel overdone. Silk scarves have been a big one for us too, just thrown on however feels right: as a belt, a head scarf, or even an accessory on your bag.

Texture-wise, we’re obsessed. Cowhide, suede… anything with a little dimension. And color-wise, we keep coming back to brown (still), but also lighter tones like baby blue and butter yellow now that it’s warming up. Think spring flowers, but not in a floral print way, and more of a perfect pastel palette way.

Accessories are kind of everything right now. A good scarf, chunky jewelry, fun shoes, seriously, it changes the entire outfit. And we have to say it: white jeans. We finally found a pair we love this year and now we’re like… how did we not have these before? They go with everything! Our marketing manager’s pick: Free People We The Free Good Luck Mid Rise Barrel Jeans. (She opted for a size three times too big to give an exaggerated baggy lowrise look, saying she thinks it gives effortlessly chic while still giving a relaxed look.)

For inspiration, it’s honestly a mix of everything. Pinterest is always open, but it’s also just noticing things in real life, outfits, details, random combinations that stick in your head. And right now, festival season is feeding all of that. Coachella, Stagecoach… we love seeing how people style pieces in a way that feels a little extra but still wearable. If we can build an outfit around boots, we’re doing it.

At the end of the day though, our biggest thing is just wearing what makes you feel good. It sounds simple, but it really does change your whole day. You can tell when someone feels confident in what they’re wearing, and that’s always the goal. So if there is ever a question between what you ‘think’ looks best, and what you know feels best, go with the latter. You will not regret it.

Spring and summer styling just comes more naturally to us too. There’s less overthinking. No stressing about layers or jackets or if something is “practical.” You can just focus on the outfit itself, which makes it way more fun.

Lately, we’ve been a little more bold and playful. Fun accessories, chunkier jewelry, pieces that not everyone is going to understand right away, and being okay with that. Honestly, that’s the best part. The people who get it, get it. Fashion at the baseline is just another form of creative expression. You look the best when you feel the best; and you feel the best when you are able to express yourself, no matter what other people may think surrounding that.

Comfort is also a huge part of it. We’re not forcing ourselves into trends that don’t feel good. Warmer weather just makes it easier—lighter fabrics, easier fits, things you actually want to wear all day.

If we had to pick one go-to look right now, it’s a slightly cropped, boxy tee (we’re obsessed.) We’d style it a little off, like tucked to one side, with shorts, boots, and a lot of jewelry. Is it crazy to say we have been loving mixing metals recently? It’s simple, but it hits every time.

And okay, this might sound random, but… ponchos. We’re fully on the poncho wave right now. Slightly sheer, super easy to throw on, and way more versatile than people think. We’ve been saying it at the shop nonstop: ponchos are sexy. Everyone laughs, but we stand by it.

Nothing about style has to make perfect sense. Trends come and go, everything cycles back around, but the best outfits are always the ones that feel like you.

That’s what we’re building around this season.
